On a misty morning in June, I drove to our third child’s kindergarten graduation with a sleeping baby in the backseat. The Gettys’ hymns played softly through the speakers, my favorite worship playlist, & my misty eyes matched the weather outside.
As we passed under a tunnel of oak trees, I thanked God for the day ahead. For the miracle of our son. For the joy waiting as he would walk across the stage, reciting Galatians 5:22 to 23 in a way-too-big graduation cap. & for the countless ways God had been faithful to our family.
Then my phone rang.
“Hi Christin, this is Sue!”
It was Sue Leavins, Executive Director of Women’s Care Medical Center, the ministry we were preparing to support this month. She had her granddaughter with her.
Two women. Two little girls in the backseat. A shared heart for life.
What she shared in those few minutes left me deeply inspired.
